Responsibilities
· Set-up and operate CNC machines to produce custom tooling/parts using various materials, (primarily foam and aluminum) ensuring adherence to customer specifications.
· Minimum of three years’ experience on CNC mills, good working knowledge of all machine functions
· Perform routine maintenance and replace any tool heads as needed.
· Able to change, set and touch off tools
· Load raw materials onto CNC machine to produce parts.
· Read and interpret technical blueprints and design models.
· Monitor machine operation to detect any problems or errors, make recommendations.
· Adhere to all safety standards and regulations including appropriate personal protective equipment.
· Inspect finished products using precision measuring equipment (calipers, gages, and micrometers) to ensure they meet required tolerances and specifications.
· Document and report any issues or irregularities that may arise during the machining process.
· Collaborate with other machinists and team members to troubleshoot and solve production issues.
· Continuously improve skills and knowledge through training and experience to increase productivity and efficiency.
· Use hand tools, inspection tools and machinery as needed.
Requirements/Qualifications
· Experience with CNC machines specifically 3 and 5 axis.
· Attention to detail, quality and safety mindset.
· Must be able to achieve quality and production goals.
· Basic blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge.
· Understanding the relationship of speeds and feeds with various materials.
· Strong analytical, mathematical, and computer skills.
· Problem solving and trouble shooting skills.
· Effective written and verbal communication skills.
· Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to take direction and work as a team.
· Must have the ability to operate industrial trucks, and overhead cranes.
· Ability to meet the physical demands of the job. Standing for long periods of time, lifting loads up to 50 pounds, bending, stooping, twisting.
