We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electronics Manufacturing Engineer to support the development, optimization, and sustainment of advanced manufacturing processes for electronic assemblies. This hands-on role requires expertise in SMT production, PCB assembly technologies, and process troubleshooting within a Tier 1 automotive environment. The ideal candidate will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, support new product introductions, and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure manufacturing excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Process Development & Optimization
- Develop and refine SMT and PCB assembly processes for high-reliability automotive applications.\
- Participate in DFM/DFA reviews with product design and engineering teams.
- Create and maintain process documentation including work instructions, control plans, and PFMEAs.
- Support equipment and process standardization efforts.
Equipment & Technology Support
- Assist in specifying and validating capital equipment (SMT lines, reflow ovens, AOI, ICT, conformal coating systems).
- Support equipment installation, troubleshooting, and process validation.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for process and equipment issues.
- Contribute to end-of-line testing strategies to ensure product integrity.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with design, quality, and operations teams to align manufacturing capabilities with product requirements.
- Support new product introductions with process feasibility assessments and technical input.
- Participate in customer audits and technical reviews as needed.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to IPC-A-610, IATF 16949, and other relevant standards.
- Support PPAP, APQP, and customer-specific quality documentation.
- Collaborate with quality teams to reduce defects and improve first-pass yield.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- 5–10 years of experience in electronics manufacturing engineering, preferably in a Tier 1 automotive environment.
- Strong knowledge of SMT equipment, PCB technologies, and process engineering.
- Experience with ICT/functional test integration and AOI programming.
- Proficiency in CAD, statistical analysis tools, and ERP/MES systems.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to customer and supplier sites.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications in IPC-A-610, Six Sigma, or Lean Manufacturing.
- Familiarity with Industry 4.0 and smart factory technologies.
- Experience with sustainable and energy-efficient manufacturing practices.
